Avilon Zoo: A fun way to start the year of the horse

Kung Hei Fat Choi! Nakiki- Chinese lang.

Yesterday, we went to Avilon Zoo in Rodriguez Rizal. I used metrodeal’s voucher, P299 instead of P600/pax. which includes entrance fee with snack. Good thing it was a holiday, so our travel time was approx 40-45min coming from Commonwealth Ave.We just presented our printed vouchers and got our paw stamp. Tour guides are available for an additional fee.

3. PWD friendly.

4.Many photo-ops area.

5. Easy to find, transportation readily available for people who uses public transport.

6. Limited but Affordable snack prices.

CONs:

1. Location is very far. Expect heavy traffic

2.Dusty Rough Road for those who will commute via orange tricycle.

3. No maps available, animal signs can be quite confusing.

After passing the cute printed huts and bridge, You’ll see this duck/swan area.

Image

I’m not sure if they allow kids to ride this statue since there are no signs or warnings. Kaya Go lang ng go! 🙂

I don’t know what this area is called but it’s a great place to held an event. Above photo is like the entrance tunnel to this hall area.

Image

It has a stage, left side from the tunnel entrance, and a stone stairs going up to the crocs area if I’m not mistaken.

This is the snack store inside.I commend Avilon for maintaining really clean washroom rooms. Food prices are reasonable. A hotdog on stick costs P25.00 (Tender Juicy) softdrinks in can, C2 costs P35.00. Their spaghetti in a cute paper box costs P50.00. Family pizza’s also available in the eatery near the entrance for P150.00.

Instant Petting zoo. Aaron saw lambs and we asked permission if he could touch them.

We ended our tour with a photo op with Trixie for P50/ 2 shoot using your own camera. Other options, would be a pony, different kinds of bird, and the albino phyton which was not available during our visit.

Overall, it was a fun experience. Aaron enjoyed his visit and is already asking for a Zoo tour again. I guess, we’ll be seeing Ark Avila or Manila Zoo soon.

Rate: 8.5/10 (Due to the distance and no available map)

Date of Visit: January 31, 2014, 12:15-4:30pm
