As much as we wanted to squeeze in more destination, we can’t due to the limited time. As part of our itinerary, after attending mass,we included Eden Nature Park for lunch and availed of their day tour package for P600/pax. Since all of us our first timer, we searched using google map during planning and it says 20-30mins and we were quite surprised since its an hour and half travel from our hotel. We started our travel at 11, reached Eden Nature Park aound 1:30pm. had lunch for 40min and tour for an hour. we reached Davao Downtown to buy pasalubong at around 5pm.
Upon arrival, we immediately went to have our lunch. I like how the resto looks like. Food choices are good. The taste is nothing exceptional but what got the approval from our guests is the vegetables. It’s Organic and harvested from their garden. Nice! 🙂
After an hour of eating lunch, we started our tour using open air multicab. Tours are scheduled in an hour basis so make sure to advance book to get a nice time slot.
There are 3 main stop for photo ops. You will be given 10-15mins per stop over. Our first stop: The iconic rainbow and amphitheater. Looks really nice in real life.
2nd stop over: I forgot the name but it’s like an imitation of an old village showing how the natives live. A short dance presentation will be shown.
3rd and last stop: Lola’s Garden. A small nipa hut in the middle of a garden with an overlooking view of Davao.
There you go, in an hour’s time our tour ended and we left immediately since we have to travel back to go see the site. I’ll definitely be back here and next time will allot more time in exploring the place.

Lucky me for I have seen and experience the best and the worst at Fairways and Bluewater Newcoast Boracay.
Last December was another Annual Regional Meeting for Megaworld’s International Sales People. This year I headed North America 1’s coordinating team handling around 55 top agents and investors. Together with the other regions, we were able to secure our room here at Fairways.
THE GOOD:
1. Everything was well-coordinated, from the sea and land transfers going to the hotel.
2. The staffs are really nice, helpful and always ready to assist us.
3. Golf Carts and Vans: 24 hours available to bring you anywhere in the property. Van Transfers every hour going to the White Beach (D’ Mall)
4.The food tastes good. (all that was served to us during our stay)
5. Most importantly( for me) the view and the beach. What more can I ask for right?!
THE BAD:
1. Check In/Out was slow. Only four front desk to entertain hundred of check- in/out guests. They should have added extra head since they are already expecting a lot of people to come and go within the day.
2.Expect to pay extra for the wifi and almost everything.
3. Last trip of van from White Beach back to the hotel is around 10-10:30pm. Expect to pay 100/tricycle fare and a 15 min tricycle drive going back to the hotel.
4. Some of the buildings are old that the room rate feels like a rift off.
ROOMS: Make sure to request for the new rooms. We were really happy when we saw our rooms. It looks great, modern and spacious. But due to the some incident, we had to vacate our nice room and transfer to one of their old buildings. We got a smaller native inspired room. The room that we got looks so outdated. Now, I totally understand why some of the guests would complain about it. They saw pictures of the new room and somehow are expecting to get that kind of room and would end up disappointed upon seeing their room. Cannot blame them.
THE INCIDENT: Everything went well until it was check out time. Our flight was 7:20 from Caticlan going back to Manila. So the night before the departure, We advised them that we wished to be transferred to Caticlan by 5:30am and to prepare pack breakfast. All the delegates were advised to check out early. We know that checking out is a tedious process since they need to check our rooms before we are cleared to go. Come check out day, no carts or van to pick up the guest in their buildings. We were advised that they are still refueling all the vehicles. . Around 6am we’re still in the hotel for clearing. A few set of delegates were sent ahead so that they could catch the flight. A lot of people are rushing and complaining because of the queue. And yes, only 4 staff on front desk to entertain all check in and check out guests.
What they did with our baggage was they load all our baggage together during the land and boat transfers. Now, when the first group of delegates came, most of their luggage were not included. Since we’re rushing, what we did was we left three other coordinators just to retrieved all the remaining baggage based on the delegate’s description. We were able to catch our flight because the aircraft was advised of our predicament by the first batch. But it didn’t end there.Since we are on a connecting flight to Davao and the connecting aircraft company would not allow us to check in because check in counters are already closed. After a few hours of pleading and argument with the aircrafts, they were able to squeeze 10 in each flight going to Davao same night until earliest flight the next day. In short it was a very tiring and draining day for all of us because of the check out incident.
Overall, despite the issue that we had with them during our stay, for me, Fairways still deserves a rate of 8/10. Just always remember to keep calm and don’t let the little or in our case the big issue ruin what you planned for.. 😀
Another year has passed and for this year’s Regional Meeting destination: Davao and Boracay.
We stayed at Park Inn by Radisson during our 3 day stay in Davao. It was conveniently located near the airport approx 15-20min on a 30 mph bus speed. It was my first time in Davao and I was so amazed by the cleanliness of the place. I mean I came from Puerto Princesa City and I’m used to seeing a clean lay back city but what sets Davao ahead of my place is the modernization that we lack. Personally for me, I feel like its Palawan and Cebu put together.
Back to Park Inn, the hotel was chosen because of the proximity to Megaworld’s Development. It has an overall hip and vibrant look. It’s also near the SMX Convention Center and with a connecting bridge to Sm Lanang. The room (standard) that we had though is a bit small but comfortable. The staffs are awesome. They are very accommodating and helpful in so many ways.
Overall, it was a very nice experience for all of us and worth recommending.
Last Feb 25, a week after the night of the brainstorming,we finally executed my cousin’s proposal to his 10-year-girlfriend @ the Skydeck, Bayleaf,Intramuros.
We closed the elevated part of the roof deck. The area can accommodate around 15-25 guest. I’m thankful that the Sir Randy was able to reserve the area without even me doing a down payment. We know that hotels has a lot of restrictions when it comes to decor. So closing an area is great since you can do whatever you want as long as it won’t affect the other diners.
We ordered their house signatures: 6 crispy kare-kare (P440), 7 Pork Bagnet Binagoongan (P400), 5 the Bayleaf Express (laing) P320,2 Pepperoni Pizza (P420), 2 Four Cheese Pizza (P470), 2 Fruit and vegetable salad (P270), 1 Roquefort and Jamon Salad (P450), which was served buffet style. I ordered quesong puti fondue (P365) and a fried chicken for Aaron. forgot the price but I think it’s around PP230-270.
Of all our orders, I like the roquefort and jamon salad and the crispy kare-kare. (minus point for the unpleasantly chewy tough meat). We sooooo love the taste of its sauce. Sauce pa lang, ulam na! 🙂
Since it’s on top of the building, there were a lot restrictions, we ended using the usual props such as video presentation and petals and candle light. Our evening started to be very windy so we didn’t push through with the lcd screen. Good thing there was a black wall part to project the video. Around 7:30pm, the weather was favoring us, so we were able to rearrange the petals in a heart shape.
Just after the proposal, Pat, Aaron and I went home since Aaron is already complaining of being tired.
Well recommended place. The overlooking view of Manila and Intramuros is good to see.Try to get there around 5-5:30pm so that you could catch the sunset.
RATE: 9/10 (it would have been perfect if the meat was tender. haha)
This post is a hotel review from my previous event from Megaworld Internation in Boracay last December 2013.
The hotel thought that all of us will be arriving the same day so I was not fetched from the port which was not a problem to me. I rode a tricycle going to Sol Marina for P250.00.the transportation is quite expensive because it’s quite a distance to the white beach area. I was dropped a few meters away from the hotel since the road going down is too steep for the tricycle. Unfortunately, the service van just transferred some guest to d’ Mall so Instead of waiting 15-20mins for it, I decided to walk down to the hotel with one of the staff.
There is a major construction on going in the area, so expect dusty environment. I choose the farthest area on the right-wing on the 2nd floor (near the road). Upon individual room checking for the guest. I’m glad I was at the other end. When you are at the left side ground floor. you could hear the frogs noises even inside your room which could be really irritating specially if you’re a light sleeper. The room I got has 2 size double beds, a flat screen tv, complimentary water and coffee and electric kettle. It also has a closet where the safety box is located. The bathroom has a tub and a hair dryer. Some of the rooms though doesn’t have a bidet.
As for the suite room, the size is like a combination of 2 rooms with a connecting door. One part serves as a bedroom and the other half serves as a receiving with dining area. Bathroom is accessible only in the bedroom.
I woke up early to oversee the preparation in the restaurant for lunch. When I went out, I was quite shock with the vastness of the construction. It was an eye sore! You may check trip advisor for more photos about the construction here.I waited for the golf cart driver to bring me to the beach front where the restaurant is located. And when I saw the beach, the view, I forgot all about the negatives that I had for Sol Marina. The exclusivity of the beach is definitely worth it. I was even happy that I was able to experience Sol Marina before the construction is finished because I will never spend more than 2k for a room in my personal travels.Well, we got our rooms at a discounted price so don’t forget to ask and bargain for the room rates! 🙂
I had my breakfast at the restaurant and the food was good. It was a plated breakfast but our breakfast the next day was set up buffet style. They arranged buffet and tour packages for your convenience. They also arranged the boat for our island hopping and the venue set up for the night’s event.
One more thing that I like about Sol Marina is the staff. They will extend help even if you don’t ask them. I commend all the staff from the front desk to the kitchen. Miss Ana (sales) and the manager were very hands on the event and the operation of Sol Marina. Aside from the island hopping, they also contacted the fire dancers for the event.
Overall, it was a nice stay in Sol Marina. Despite the ugly view of the constructions, the beach, the exclusivity and the staff will definitely make up for all the negatives that I saw.
